cowling opening device pictures

I am missing the rod that keeps the cowling open. Can someone please post pictures so I can fabricate new ones? thanks

Also VERY interested! Can't count how many times I have gotten banged by the cowl. I have NEVER seen the rod except in a few rare photos..

I too have never seen one on that vintage of Taylorcraft. Shouldn't be that hard to come up with something if you wanted.

It looks like it may be a home-made modification to me. I've never seen one on a Taylorcraft....some Piper PA-28 cowls, all Chipmunks and Tiger Moths (and no doubt others) have similar cowl rods to secure them in the open position.

It's not a bad idea! But in the USA you have to battle with the FAA.
