Hank,
I'll delay the bungee install for awhile in hopes that your airplane is available. It's very generous of you to offer to fly up here and give me a hand (I'll buy the gas and lunch).
I didn't expect my initial request to generate this discussion but it indicates the value of the forum community. Thanks to all.
Robert,
The Taylorcraft Owner's Club used to have a loaner tool when it was run by Bruce Bixler in Alliance. I'm not aware of a tool available locally.

Loaner tools (or at least a geographic list of where special tools are available) is a big reason I want to re-start the regional Taylorcraft clubs. Honestly the MAIN reason is it was so much FUN knowing all teh other guys reasonable close who were infected with the Taylorcraft bug. We need to kick off regions again! How about a new thread for different regions where owners (or people who are just fans of the Taylorcraft) can post so we know where we all are. If it works for one area maybe other areas will start sub groups too. We used to have a Virginia Carolina's group (because the airspace was such a MESS if you flew north!). I think with GPS to show us how to thread around all the restricted areas now that isn't as much of a problem. I will start a thread for the Mid Atlantic and post my info. Anyone who is interested add your plane and location.

I didn't set up any setting restricting anyone. Anybody know how the "groups" part works? I will never claim to be very knowledgeable about using computers. Also anyone know how to get rid of the second one? I have only posted to one and didn't intend for a second one to be there. What i had thought was others would start OTHER groups in other regions (however I have NO problem with people from further away joining, just wouldn't expect them to show up for a fl;y-in breakfast.

Yea, love to but no idea when the plane will be ready. Hit a sag when I found out the ELT had been installed wrong before and no one caught it. Having to build a whole new antenna mount. Turns out teh ant that connects directly to the ELT is for TESTING only! Small comment buried in the manual. Been flying with the wrong (test) antenna since I bought it! Got all but a couple of parts now just need to be able to reach the mount pate in the fuselage (always wondered what that plate was for!)

Can you point me to the regulation about this. I do not know it and I should. I need to learn it.
Thanks, Dave.

Had an engine problem after the annual and it wasn't ever put back in. I have been renting since then and trying to get the 41 back up. Seems like a host of "improvements" have piled up till the annual was lapsed! AGAIN! Sometimes I think I actually like to work on them more than fly them. Until I fly again!
