EAA just announced that Oshkosh 2020 is cancelled.

Disappointing, but to be honest it's no surprise. They had to err on the side of caution, and with the huge financial and personnel investment just over the horizon, a decision I would have taken too.

These are strange times indeed.

For you to miss going they would need to have it, so since they are not having it, you are not missing it.

With Oshkosh being cancelled is there any interest in having a small Taylorcraft only fly in around the same time? I manage a small airport in Southeastern Illinois, and would be willing to host an event. Lets use this as a sounding board to see if there is any interest.

I think a flyin is a great idea, what's your ident? Hate to have just Taylorcrafts, how bout any ragwings? The judging could be for Taylorcrafts? The SWPC convention is Sept 14-18 so dont schedule during that event..

The airport id is KOLY. Anybody who likes Taylorcraft would be welcome. My vision is more a gathering of friends than a huge fly in.

I don't think a huge fly in will be a problem, most of my flying buddies ride spam cans, hate to exclude them.

Hi Tom,
Do you have an idea on when you might do your fly-in?
I ask because our VAA chapter is starting to plan for activities again and we are looking at dates for our annual Vintage fly-in event. If you have an idea for yours I might be able to keep our event from conflicting with yours. As I want to do both.
