Stock Exhaust with a -12 Accessory Case

Does anyone know if the stock exhaust will fit with a C-90 using the -12 accessory case...using a starter but NO gen. I know the Luscombe exhaust is better just also thinking less modification the better also IMOH (not needing to move the gasculator ...extra butchering of the lower cowl etc..)

Yes the 65 is narrorer. Un understand some have split the exhaust and re welded. Sooo given that will it fit with a -12 mount with no generator? Clearance Clarence? Again just a thought

I recently removed the exhaust from a C85-12 and replaced it with the Luscombe exhaust.

you will have to go to an F-19 exhaust or something other than a rear cross over

About the only thing that can be in the way back there would be the oil screen housing. Probably need to take a measurement on a stock plane with a -8 engine and compare. Never tried it, always have put the Luscombe exhaust on the F-19. That F-19 exhaust was not too good.

Pretty good consensus. Luscombe exhaust. Any one have a pic of where you relocated the gasculator?

Thank you .Found the pics. A bit of deviation in mounting points based on the different installations.... Looks best to keep it closer to the same height it was orginally on the mount when moving it back to the fire wall

65 exhaust is narrower

Do you know by how much, Tim? I have a stroker C85 on my UK 1946 BC12D, but with the original A-65 stainless exhaust still fitted (albeit with a small welded change to the "back straight" to make it fit the 85 cylinders).

There is no way in this or any other world I would fit a non-Taylorcraft type exhaust, but if I had one made of larger internal diameter, would that help my stroker "breathe" more easily?
(not that it needs to really...the performance upgrade on the engine alone is astounding!)
