Ralmark ball bearing Pulley availability update....................

Just spoke to Laura, the nice lady at Classic Aero (the Luscombe suport guys) about Taylorcraft pulleys. She says they have to buy 100 at a time to get Ralmark to make the Taylorcraft specific drawing pulleys. The last order they made didn't seem to be selling much with one or two calls a year. She said at one point they thought about not ordering any more, then all of a sudden they started to move rapidly off the shelves (I suspect as we talk here about them people then go buy them figuring they better before they are gone). Seems it's very demand dictated. She's about half through her current stock (minus my 18) so yes guys, and gals, get them while she still has them.

Nice folks there at Classic Aero, and Laura's putting mine in the mail this afternoon along with another Taylorcraft order. Can't beat the service!

    Cheers,
    "Captain Jon" Timlin

Sounds like this is something to coordinate like we did for the bungees a few years ago. If we can predict our use rate on these kinds of things the suppliers will love us. Works well for everybody.

In an ideal world we could, but we don't even know who on this site, for sure, is working on a restoration, never mind those out there by themselves with no "support group" like this.........

Speaking of bungees Hank,........... any favorite vendors and suggestions for our 1500 pounders?

        Cheers,

When Chuck and I did the last mass order we got them from SBC in Alabama. As far as I know he is the ONLY manufacturer and all the companies like ASS get them from him. We got the mass order by going out to all the people on the Forum and getting commitments. We then made the mass buy and Chuck did the distribution to all teh names and addresses I compiled. We got a substantial discount by doing it that way and also got FRESH bungees, not ones that could have been sitting on a warehouse shelf for years. David at SBC was fantastic to work with and I would think it is about time for those bungees to be looked at. The last mass buy was in 2013.

Does anyone have a list of the pulleys used in a BC-12D? One of my TCraft is apart and over the years the parts have scattered. Thanks for any help!

There are only 2 sizes, most of them are the large ones, there was only 4-6 small ones in my airplane from what I remember...

Post #1 has pics, P/N's, and quantity of each. https://www.taylorcraft.org/docs/tay...ual%20BB12.pdf has fuselage prints that show the position of the A-228 and A-229 pulleys. In addition there's a special trim system pulleys front and rear. The rear is a V-groove design.
