I remember being absolutely captivated by the entire Apollo program. I hung on to the Life special edition.

Here's to the people, alive and gone, who made it happen.Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_20190716_135459.jpg Views:	1 Size:	149.1 KB ID:	183456

    Likewise.

I was 6 years old at the time, and staying with friends of the family. We watched the whole thing. I think I fell asleep.

It was only much, much later that I realised what I had witnessed.

This recollection of the 50th moon landing anniversary is a bit like the 75th of the D-Day landings....next time there will be none of them left.

I remember collecting photos and other memorabilia that was out at that time. I was eight years old and was really interested in 'Space'.

I was flying tankers fighting forest fires in Idaho, Washington and Oregon, watched it in the crew shack at La Grange, OR.

So Mike Colins was the guest speaker at theater in the woods tonight along with others whoa were part of the program and some never before seen footage and of course the many times before seen footage.

The place was packed all the way naxk to the vintage hangar

a good evening with lots of laughs, nostalgia and inspiration.
