Here are the pictures.Center is whole inner mounting panel. Right is yellow blot os brush swipe above airspeed indicator. Left is blue swipe above altimeter cut out. Can't remember now that I've started to edit what order they were in. Hopefully the description is correct.Last edited by Clark; 05-10-2019, 17:44.

Photos would help!
Sometimes, speeds are indicated by colours (like red line, yellow arc etc)

I don't remember dots from my restoration, but that was 25 years ago. Besides showing which instrument goes where it may also been used to show which side the instrument should be installed from.

It looked deliberate. Makes sense I wonder what assemblies were involved, might provide meaningful history.

Probably aided in assembly, I have seen another manufacturer mark where to put "what" indicators when they are doing sub assemblies...

Meaning of paint blot/swatch on inner instrument panel
I just noticed a purposely (looks purposeful) blot of blue paint above mounting hole for the altimeter. I then looked around and there is a definate yellow one above the airspeed indicator cut out. Is this a factory indicator of some kind ? Anyone have any idea of whether they have any meaning or significance. It doesn't seem accidental or random.Tags: None
