Haven't been able to find other information indicating his middle initial but I'd think this is a relatively high probability although a lot can happen in 6 years.

The library in Alliance has an Obit for a William J Ward from November 1961. I'll do some calling.

My test pilot looks like JHM. Second flight was by new owner taking the plane home to Wisconsin. Plane was flown about 130 hrs the first year. Each flight was logged in the book. Wonder if pilot kept a second log book for his/her self. Interesting to see where the plane was flown. Been trying to put a full name to the destination airports based on the abbreviations. Have found some info about the original owner, but not much after him.

I think this is some of the types of information that Forrest knows or has access to. Unfortunately, there will come a time when it will probably be lost to us. If not already. According to the member list, Forrest hasn't logged onto the forum since Jan, 2016.

Forrest is now all about Facebook. And yes, he has all of that information but good luck getting it. I was standing right there with him and couldn't get him to get it for me.

Lots of us are on both. When we see something of use the the other we generally try to re-post, but if you have a problem or question and we don't know it it won't get re-posted. ALL of us really should be on both. It isn't really a big deal to read both and there are often great little tid-bits on one that aren't on the other. EVERYONE here "should" be on the FB group too......and it goes both ways. The FB group is at https://www.facebook.com/groups/571231992887131/ and there is also a parts group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1252686434833225/ . Several people have FB pages for their restorations like Charles Smith's beautiful red and white restoration of 95334 at https://www.facebook.com/groups/4076...822/?ref=br_rs . I plan to start one for 43196 as soon as I get her into the new hangar.

Mike, some folks don't want to go through the hassle of signing up here. Lot of people on FB that are NOT on here. FB has the ability to ask questions and immediately get a response. On the forum it can take a little while longer.

Have you received the FAA's CD records? They are valuable. Mine has had 33 owners since June 1941. Lots of lovers and she's experienced.

I went through the FAA online request but so far I've heard nothing. The N number was cancelled in 1973. I assume the records from 46-73 still exist but perhaps not?
