    Good day all

Just finished updating progress on CF-CLR (including my excuses for not achieving more!)
TALORCRAFT Taylorcraft BC12D aircraft restoration maintenance fabric sheet metal paint airplane repair wing aileron fuselage cowling A65 PA 18 super

In addition to the radio package posted a couple of weeks ago, I added reports on exhaust work, left wing completion and more Ranthane info learned the hard way.

Hope to make some serious progress in the next few weeks, but steelhead season is just around the corner... what's a guy to do!

Scott, you do some really nice work! Please don't take your blog down when you finish! I reference your site all the time. I've rebuilt my right wing and am just finishing up priming all the left wing parts after cleaning, repairing, replacing etc. I should be able to start putting the left wing back together this week. I still need to do the ailerons, and haven't really touched the fuselage yet, so I've got quite a ways to go. Best of luck finishing up CF-CLR! I hope to see it at OSH someday!

Really agree! Do NOT take it down. It is a great reference for others. Many times a photo taken from just a tiny bit of a different angle can answer a host of questions for someone who took something apart years (sometimes DECADES) ago. I remember telling myself "I can remember how I took THAT apart! No problem! Now I have a box of pieces of wood and am trying to piece them back together so I can make new parts. Every photo and description is invaluable to others.

          Re: Blog Update

Don't panic, I've no plans to do anything with the blog. I do however wonder what the future holds for the info. I'm not convinced the blog has any value to Google, the site provider, which was fine when Google had low profitability expectations, but that situation is changing across the web, especially given most of the control now lies in the hands of a handful of companies.

I do also worry about the security of the site. It frequently gets hundreds of hits from Russia. Is there a large Taylorcraft fraternity there... I don't think so. Apparently this is not unusual but Blogspot is unresponsive on what if any risks exist.

My biggest concern is I have no backup for the text
I have all the original images, and many many more, but the text exists only on the web.

Perhaps eventually it can be turned into a paper guide, might be more useful in the shop that way anyway.

But for now I just want to get the project done already!!

            Re: Blog Update

It would take some time, but it would be pretty easy to copy and paste into a word or PDF document. Once completed it could be added to the resources page here.
I just did a sample test with the current page, except I pasted it into a email.

                Scott,

You can save the web pages to your computer. Internet Explore has an option to save as "Web Archive", a single file for each web page. The pages aren't linked since the pointers still reference the original blog site, but you can display each page and if all else was lost, cut & paste the text. At least you would have it on your computer and backups. I used IE v.11

                  Here's what I have
The Front baffles connect to the front of the crankcase baffle. I used 4 No 6 screws and nuts

If this doesn't work let me know and I'll take some better shots

                    Thanks Mike
There appears to be a similar tool in Chrome. Seems to work!
I've got some saving to do...

Here's a link on converting an html file to a doc file in Word. I use Open Office and it lacks some of the Word functionality. I can get the text in to an odt file, but not the linked images. Anyone got Word and time to experiment?
