    Re: Glove Box Doors

I have one original 1946 door in great shape and an aluminum glove box from an ~1980 F21.

Make me an offer. Will add a picture a little later.

Make sure to check the door and box dimensions! There was more than one box size and some won't fit in other aircraft. I have bucks for two different size doors (for the 41 and 45) and they are NOT interchangeable! Don't know if they had other sizes before 41 or after 46.

Look here at page 6=> http://www.taylorcraft.org/docs/Tayl...anual_1985.pdf

Its the 1985 parts manual and I attached page 6 only to this post for convenience.

Look at lower left corner for "INSTRUMENT & ENGINE CONTROLS FOR ALL MODELS" then look down for part number 0989-1.

It fits all models according to Taylorcraft but apparently "ALL MODELS" means 1945 and after, see NOTE at bottom of paragraph.

        1946 would fit that description.

Bottom line, it should fit fine.

You can get new ones and new springs that match the originals from David Wenglarz. Just search his name and you will find his info as well as pictures I posted of my new panel and glove box doors. His work is flawless.
          Cheers,

Also found this from you Marty=> https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail...ash_Ivory.html

Sounds like about $20 door + $14 handle + $3 spring + shipping for handle + shipping from Dave so total maybe $50 per door??

I would take 1/2 of that for my door - $25

                  Hey Dave,

I've gotten lazy in posting links as I feel I do it all the time. Search box is your friend, lol. Thanks!
                  Cheers,

                        Thanks Dave
I was happy with the way they turned out. So happy... I didn't paint them to match the panel: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Nb6Hwk9Gj...0/DSCN5124.JPG

Good to see that David is still at it turning out parts like this. While some may have some used ones they are really not all that plentiful. Many were tossed when owners along the way thought A Taylorcraft panel should resemble that of a Cessna.
