This plane is in both of my parents' logbooks from the mid-40's when it was based in Springfield, IL. If only I had the room for it...

I bought a copy of that issue off of Ebay years ago and gave it to my mother, she really enjoyed reading about it. She turns 90 this month, but flew that plane as a teenager.Cheers,

I was doing some research on a local pilot that was very involved in Springfield aviation, and was also an aviation reporter for our local paper. His name was John Thornton Walker, ultimately a WWII L-Bird pilot. In is his articles I am finding many other pictures but the date is cut-off in the scan and the N-numbers are unreadable.Cheers,
