  • How to prevent double post

When typing a reply to a post after hitting the submit button, STOP before doing anything else.

Don't worry about any of the different pop up messages, I think I have seen at least 3 different messages. Chances are that your post is there even if you don't see it.

Use the back button to go all the way back to the forum where the thread is located, don't stop even if you see where you were making your post. If you don't see your name as making the last post in the thread, hit the refresh button on your computer. If your post was successful it will now show your name as being the last poster in the thread.

If you are worried about losing the information that you just posted, right click and highlight the text and copy it before hitting submit. This way if your post is not there for some reason you can paste your text into a new post.

I'm sitting here laughing. That was great! At least it is only an annoyance (and not a bad one). I get the pop ups and screwy info sometimes and I just ignore it. My double posts stopped happening.

Watch this one double post. ;-)

Also if the "leave this page box" pops up I always click on leave this page. Then I use the back button. If it doesn't show up like this post did.

That's the way I always do it.... and I get the messages that it's not gone or something similar...but the post's there, and sometimes it's there a few times. I suppose it would be a real mess to switch to some other more stable forum software???
I'm so far behind, I think I'm ahead

LOVE British humor Rob, Dave Allen, Monty Python, etc... didn't know if you did that on purpose or not, but I was in stitches! Well done!
