This manual has been posted in the resources section by Rob Lees.

      Thanks Rob.

I downloaded the Manual but it results in a blank brown page in PDF format.

Still DOA with Adobe Reader V 11.0.10. Something'd downloading but no visual cigar.

I tried it and had a problem too.

Adobe said the file was damaged when I tried to open it.

I've tried reloading it, using underscores instead of s p a c e s, please let me know if you can all access it now via the Foundation Technical Resources page.

              Rob,

Shows up now. Why didn't you use the much better quality copy from the L-2 CD's Disk 4? It has the L-2 pilot, maintenance, parts and repair manuals.

I'm just the lackey, Ron. I will post what folks reasonably ask me to post. I do try to give sensible consideration to copyright, trademark and "intellectual property" rights (and on occasion I've declined to post stuff on one of those principles).

There was a whole host of "bad karma" a few years ago about the intellectual property rights of the content of those cd's. Has that been resolved?

The "Bad Karma" was over the blueprints. The L-2 manuals were from a different source. Please only do what you are comfortable with.

                    Ron,

I was the one that donated the manual.

I have a paper copy that I scanned for this purpose.

If you have a better version that's great.

Not everyone has that CD, perhaps you want to replace my manual with your better copy?

Frankly, I didn't donate it do hear gripes about the quality.

                      Dave,

Not griping. I knew Rob had access to the L-2 CD so only suggested he use the better quality copy for everyone's enjoyment.

Well, I'd be happy to post a copy the cd version if I had the permission of the copyright owner (do we know who that is?).

The issue here is the Taylorcraft Foundation: This is their site, and although of charitable status, they could be found liable for openly publishing the intellectual property of others. I'm sure that we are all aware that there is no "commercial gain" intended by publishing information here, but if a court proved that someone gained profit from such a publication ...

...well, let's just say we have to be courteous to who owns the information.

As an aside, distributing individual copies of copyrighted material for private use is generally accepted worldwide (as is the case, for example, in sharing music in your home). Although not being an expert in US law, I'm sure the same applies...for private use, of course.

By the way, yesterday Bob Ollerton said that the Foundation has little to do with this site. Here is the quote "First, the Foundation has little to do with this forum. Its all me, as a private effort."

Now I have no issue with that at all but we do need to have just one story and then act based on that singe story.

Perhaps we need to communicate better who / what controls the site.

That's a fair question, Dave, to which I do not have an answer. The website to which the Technical Resources page is attached, is called the "Taylorcraft Foundation", although their declared copyright date has expired a bit

I know that Bob introduced the "Reference Documents" section to this Internet Forum (this discussion site) to alleviate the HTML whatnot required to upload, and I see he's posted a "test" recently.

                            Back to L2 Manuals:
I'm fairly sure* that the TCDS for the L2 (A-746) is owned by other than the Taylorcraft Foundation, so one might argue that a manual of this type might be their property?

                            Rob

                            * (For sure I'm sure; we can all look up TCDS holders here)

Correct me if I am wrong, but the operators manual for the L2 appears to be issued by the military. This makes me think that it would not be tied to the type certificate.
