Beginning pilot, I have been a lurker for the last 6 months or so, purchased a 1940 c85 in August and am just a few hours short of all the hours needed for private, just got her on skis and had one trial run.
Seems like I can't post pictures, have a nice one on the banks of the mighty Yukon river during my first solo cross country, will share it when I can.
Thanks for the beautiful aircraft VictorBravo, I purchased her from our Buddy Jack! He has been more than helpful, always takes my calls and has time for my "questions"
EVERYBODY who walks by it at the hanger comments on how nice it is,
    THANKS

Congratulations, ERicter. Welcome to the camaraderie of piloting and of owning a TaylorCraft. It must be a very exciting time for you. I look forward to seeing the pics once you figure out how to attach them.
What I usually do is scroll down below the "Your Message" box to the "Additional Options" box. If you don't see the "Additional Options" box, Click on the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom right.
Then click on the "Manage Attachments" button. Then Browse and Upload.

    Good Luck.

I'm not sure about this forum, but some require that you have a few post under your belt before being allowed to do attachments.

        Hello ERicter,

        Welcome.

We quite often deal with first names here; although you are entirely free not to.

Good luck with the purchase AND your ticket!

        Rob

3Dreaming in the post above ^^^ his real name is Gordon. Or Clarence; I can't remember which .

Rob, Actually the name is Tom Baker, but my father was already using that log in name. I didn't want people think they were talking to him when it was me on the keyboard. Because of that I went with one I have been using on model airplane sites for years.

            I know that!

But not everyone else does! (I was having a play upon usernames)

By the way, are your boys taller than you yet?

Welcome, I don't post much either but have learned a lot from this site. Good to see another Taylorcraft flying in Alaska, I'm down in Soldotna. There are a number of them around and Anchorage area too, good luck and have fun

I'm not trying to hide behind my user name.

The elder son has me by about 2" already, and he is not done growing yet. The younger one just turned 12, and I am still taller than he is. I hope to have the older one flying in a Taylorcraft sometime soon.

Know what you mean. I got the "Toms" mixed up quite a lot. Hard to figure out which one I was talking to on different topics, then realized it wasn't the point. Both are great Taylorcrafters. Maybe just sign the bottom of each post with Tom 2 or something. The Baker name is pretty well known, even by those who don't know it. ;-) (I need that "screw-ball" smiley" for that one)

                      Hello,

You will need to resize the picture smaller, usually. I use pixresizer, really simple. That is the common problem with being able to post pictures on this forum. Use the search box, that may help too.
                      Cheers,
                      Marty

That's going to go right over the heads of a bunch of people, I know it would have mine until someone pointed it out to me.

That would be Doctor Who, english show, Tom Baker was one of the original doctors from the '70s

Baker was the ultimate Dr Who! Who could forget that hair and hat. Anyone have ta photo of the Taylorcraft he flew? Wonder if it was named "Tardus"?
