  • If it weren't for bad luck.......

    Well I've been sick again for the past few days. Severe muscle and joint pain with high fever. No other symptoms at all. They thought it was a virus at first but now they have admitted me to the hospilal again. They are testing me for spinal meningitis. Also not ruling out lime disease. They also want to do a spinal tap to rule out the possibility of lucimia. Someone just shoot me and get it over with,lol

    Sorry to hear about that, Kevin. If I can offer a small consolation, "Spinal Tap" were a mock Rock band;

        Thanks guys, hopefully get to go home this morning. They did confirm that I have a virus they believe is related to a mosquito bite. Also a chest X-ray confirmed pneumonia again in my right lung. I don't even have a single symptom of pneumonia but they said it couldve easily been cause by the infection and/or might not have been completely healed up from my last major round with pneumonia back in march and April and if that was the case it wouldn't take much of anything to cause a set back. Anyway they said lots of rest, fluids(non alcoholic...dammit!!), low sodium foods(I think the docs are trying to kill me),....hydrate,hydrate,hydrate. No more smoking(duh, thought id been doing pretty good with that lately), no more flying at alluntil I have X-rays that show me to be completely clear of any pneumonia(apparently the pressure changes can cause a set back too). Take it easy, eat and drink right,lots of rest,etc for the next 2-3 weeks. If I don't get this pneumonia out of me completely it will never go away....at least that's what they say.

          Stay away from any solvent fumes too! I have had Pneumonia several times and even a lot of cleaners (things as innocuous as Windex!) have caused problems unless you are completely over it. Paint solvents could put you back in the hospital.
          Take good are of yourself and get completely over it before you jump back in. Might want to shop for a really good quality charcoal filter mask for when you start working on the plane again too.

            Holy cow, Kevin! Take care of yourself and get mended up! That pneumonia is nothing to mess with... been there done that. Like Hank says, you'd be amazed at what can trigger it again!

              I'm starting to figure that out.....this is really hard for a guy to deal with who never gets sick! I hate being grounded, and I don't mean just flying.
