  • Best of 2014 Taylorcraft photos?

Apologies to Robert (do we have to wait till December??), but thought I'd post this, since I had a good day yesterday. I put the skis on a month ago for the first time in about 12 years, hoping we might get one more snowfall of a few inches in Virginia so I could get at least a day of ski flying in, and of course we got 16 inches on Thursday.

Nice pic, Andrew (I'd be interested in detail of your mount; PM if needs be ). No, you don't have to wait 'til December...the whole thing is just for fun!

Are those genuine D-Day stripes on the Cub?

Centered PERFECT! If it was perfectly balanced the photo would have no drama. I love it.

Is that the shadow of a face and shoulder on the stab? Must have been hard to hold on! ;-) See, LOTS of drama!

I like the POV...probably the best I have seen.

Robert, PM sent, I think the Cub was a J-3 that was modified years ago with extra windows to look like an L-4. When my friend Charlie recently restored it he kept the windows and liked the stars and bars, but wanted Cub Yellow, so made it a mix of schemes.

That's a great shot! What setting did you have the camera on? Trying to learn all I can...

Medium field of view, 8 mp. It's a Hero 2 so no remote control, just set to shoot every 10 seconds, and you wade through what you go to find the good ones.

3rd coldest night ever in March in Virginia, and snow on the ground, so more ski flying...

In the words of a local flight instructor,

DIRT DOWN! SKY UP! DIRT DOWN! SKY UP!!!!!!

Sounds really good over the radio when said three octaves above normal.
