runon...You would only prop it from behind, with the right door open, your free hand on the door jamb and your feet firmly planted on the through-bolts on the ski...It wouldn't hurt to have the main fuel valve off...you have plenty of time to turn it on. If your still not feeling ok, tie the tail...it doesn't take long. Even though these planes don't weigh a lot, when they start moving on glare ice it can be a bear to bring one to a halt. It's not impossible to operate safely, but it is combination of little items that fudges things in your favor. For what it's worth...Dick

Indeed! Nate provided a respectable performance with the 180 last spring at Valdez.

Thanks Jim! You know I saw on the news the other day a remote drone that times to a watch and will follow you to get aerial shots of you dirt bike riding etc... I told my wife that I could probably fly the tcraft that slow and it would follow me. Then I realized that were I ever I go this piper pacer follows me. Fortunately it keeps taken pictures like that.

Re: Best of 2014 Taylorcraft photos?

Rob, I finally went back and replaced the photos from the beginning of the thread. They had been Facebook links, and apparently Facebook doesn't allow that anymore. I put them on Photobucket and re-linked. Also here's one from 2014 that I previously posted on another thread, over the Grand Canyon in May-

I recently heard that the owner of this one, which is now in Reno, lost his medical and is going to sell it.

Also, GoPro news, in November I had it mounted on a 1934 Kinner Sportster and one of the U-joints in the mount broke, so that camera is now probably in some farmer's field near the airport. I did get a new Hero 4 for Christmas though...

My favorite from last fall. Lake George with just enough ice.

Great shot Jeff! We are fortunate to have the Lake George/Knik River drainage to play in. Of course no matter where you live you make the best of it.

What a lovely photo! One day I'll do some ice flying in Alaska.

A request for this next winter season, Jeff, if I may: can you do the same picture, but put your camera on a pole so that the wings are below the lake edge / land horizon? I think that would be worthy of sale to magazines.

Although these "Best of year XXXX Taylorcraft photos" threads are not a competition, the one you posted would be up there in my estimation.

                            You cheered my day, thanks!
