    Re: Wing tank plumbing

Thanks Scott. Mine is mounted with a T-fitting and nipple. Inflow from tank goes to one side of T, other side of T goes to primer pump. Side input port of gascolator has bull plug. I doubt any two of these birds are alike.

Unfortunately that means the fuel going to your engine via the primer is unfiltered. Probably never be a problem but not considered correct. Maybe something to change if your doing some plumbing in that area.

It may be unfiltered, but I am not sure how you can consider it incorrect. It was done that way from the factory. Any other way would not conform to the type design, unless you have an approval for the design change.
I Also have the top to a Piper gascolator here, and the primer port is on the inlet side. I have seen other primers pull fuel directly from the fuel tank.

Interesting Tom. I hadn't considered what the factory may have done, I guess when faced with the option of supplying filtered or unfiltered fuel to an engine, ill choose filtered every time, especially when there's no other restrictions (ie. Complexity cost etc.).

Anyway like i said no biggie, probably never have a problem, and we know taylorcraft used this philosophy as a minimum standard often in the production od these aircraft.
