    Hank & Louie,
The 9090s would be the same thickness as the 9010, but only 9" long, verses 10" for the 9010. So....., since the 9010s are an inch longer and the same diameter, they will not give the same amount of tension as the 9090. But if you get the 9010HD, they might be pretty close to the same. If you contact SBC, I am sure they can tell you the tension of the 9090s. The 9010HD is listed as 475 lbs. It doesn't say how far out they are stretched to get that tension, but at least it is something to compare.

      Re: Bungee Question

      Hank,

My '39 (700 #empty wt.) has two year old 9090's on it now. If there's an order for 9090's in the plans, I would take four of those. If the 9010HD's are found to work out for the prewar models, I'm OK with four of those instead if it helps. Put me on the list please.

      Thanks guys!

I hope Hal, the OP, will forgive me but I have amended the thread title to try to persuade more folks to get their orders in.

Hank, That would be great if you could do that. I fully appreciate that you cannot get the numbers for a price break but last time I ordered from them they made a special run for me and I was happy with the price. In fact it was Forrest ( just found a previous Bungee thread ) who came up with the type and size for my aircraft. What UK car parts are you looking for? I am a Classic Car man ie MGA! PM me if you wish.

Chuck is actually friends with him and was going to hand pick up the group buy. The SBC list doesn't even include F-22 bungees, but since he has the tooling to make them I am sure he should be able to make them up. His web site is at http://www.sbcindustries.com/products.htm and from what I understand he makes them to order from fresh material stocks. I am afraid it could take a while to get enough people for a price break for the F-22 and you will probably have to do a single order but I am sure we can make arrangements to get them paid for and shipped to you in GB. If nothing else I can mail them from here to you (maybe trade for English car parts....;-) ). We will have to find out what a run of 4 bungees will cost.

Thanks! IT seems to be working. We still haven't heard back from someone who has used the 9010HDs on a pre war plane, but it looks like if they won't work the ppost war guys are getting close to the 50 unit price break. The "Old Plane" guys will have to work on it if we can't use the HDs.

                    Re: Bungee Question

The 9010HD will work on prewars, just not the early ones with the narrow attach points. 9090 has a lower load test rating and will not support the heavier postwar airplanes with higher gross weight.

Make mine 4 @ 9010HD also. I'm old and slow so please give concise instructions for payment ( by check in my case ).
                          I appreciate your help.

                            Re: Bungee Question

Looks like we have enough of the 9010HDs asked for to get over 50 and some people have chimed in that they are OK for the pre-war planes too (but just opinions so far, nothing from a quotable source). We actually have 6 pre-war planes (24 bungees) on top of the post war orders.

I think we will run this till this weekend and I will get with Chuck to be sure we don't have any duplicates on our lists. After that we will need checks from those who want bungees so we can pay for them (and to get us the mailing addresses to send them to!) We should be able to put the order in on Monday.

If you want a set and haven't let us know, you are running out of time!

                            Hank

Next we need to finally establish the regional Taylorcraft lists so we can get together asd groups to put them on. Chuck and I have been looking at ways to meet up and do them production line style. It would be a fun reason to get together and we could probably do 8 or 10 in a short day.

Add me to the list Hank. I would rather have 9010HD and 1110 's but will take what I can get.

                              Thanks

                                I have a '41 BC12 in the UK.
It waddles like a pregnant duck on 9010's, but sits up straight on 9090's.
Shame we can't get 9090HD's though.
