Here are a couple of my first attempts at YouTube clips with the Taylorcraft.

    Playing in the snow: http://youtu.be/9SbeGH3_nVs
    Circuits on the Knik: http://youtu.be/KNmmJbqWi28

I picked up a GoPro camera last summer and played with it a little, but couldn't figure out how to edit clips on my PC. I picked up an iPad recently and found an app called iMovie. It allows for video editing and I'm slowly getting it figured out. I think if I had iMovie on an Apple desktop computer (iMac), there would be many more editing features.

Anybody else using a GoPro and iPad for flying clips? Any tips on editing, posting, linking video clips?

    Blue skies,

    Rod

Rod, great videos. I have a GoPro camera but haven't rigged a mount yet. What are you using? Thanks.
      Cheers,

Here's my effort with the GoPro I got for Christmas:
Playing with the new GoPro I got for Christmas, and experimenting with Windows Movie Maker video editing

My computer has Windows Movie Maker on it for editing video, seems to work OK-

I used the tripod mount bolted to a small tab on the stabiliser

            Great Videos!
I am planning/wanting to put a GoPro on the Tcraft when its new wings go back on.

One question: Does anyone know how to filter/edit/sync the video so that terrible bent 7-bladed prop doesn't show up?

                Skip,

I don't think you can. The best way is to keep the camera off of the prop or make it so just the corner of the scene is where the prop is. I want to mount mine off of a strut facing forward.
                Cheers,

                  Re: Video Clips

It's from the "rolling shutter" on that type of video camera, also on most cell phone cameras. There are apparently ways to at least improve it, google "GoPro rolling shutter fix" , here's one answer:

The before and after videos for the fix. In the "after" video, the aircraft turns into the sun while the propeller remains stable. On the ground, when the ...

                      Marty,
I bought a whole selection of mounts from the GoPro web site and am using almost all of them. Several are made with an adhesive that seems to work very well. For the shots from the strut, I am using the helmet strap mount and some electrical tape.

Awesome flying, Andrew! Is your T a clip-wing, or stock? I wish I knew how to fly the graceful aerobatics, sure looks like fun.

Thanks, Rod. Just wanted to know what you were using on the strut. I have several ideas but I am looking for something simple. I have a hard time hanging $200 based on adhesive or suction cups, though I am aware others are doing it.
                          Cheers,

Buy some Neutral Density (ND) film and stuff it in the case (ignore the creases...they don't matter)

It gets rid of the propeller artefacts.

I've had the suction cup up to Taylorcraft VNE , but don't sue me if yours falls off: This is a Slingsby Firefly (the one that the US Airforce bought 150 of and then scrapped them because the instructors didn't know how to recover from a spin):

Video is 8 minutes...just scoop a few frames from here & there; don't watch the whole thing.
