If you wish to fly a VERY nice BC12D, 65hp, rather than spend 30-35000 to restore one: Mine is still for sale. It won First Prize at Sentimental Journey in the late 90's. I just put a new McCauley 74-42 prop on it which gave it much better performance. Always hangared, 600 hrs (approx) on engine and airframe since complete restoration. ALWAYS hangared. VERY extensive logs by former owner AND complete logs since it was delivered new in '46 to Oscar Hostetter in York, Penna. It is a 10, inside and out and flys perfectly. It has an air-oil separator, a battery that powers ORIGINAL nav. lights, original Deluxe paint scheme, NICE redone interior with head liner and luggage compartment that is perfect. Annual is due in April 2011. If you would rather fly than talk about it, let me know. ( its ceconite with dope paint, replica wheel pants that are copied exactly like original.) Former owner rebuilt it in 1996 and owned it since 1977. Price is 26500.00 firm. (Included is an Icom that is in holder on left side of panel. It is hooked up to Antenna on top of cabin. A lot of the guys (and gals) haven't seen your plane. You need to post some beauty shots.
Friend of mine just (finally!) got a hangar and will be looking for a plane to put in it. I'm trying to convince him to go with a Taylorcraft but he seems to like the taste of SPAM and keeps drooling on Mooneys and Bonanzas.
If you want to go fast, take an airline. Flying should be about the FLYING, not how fast you go.

There is really nothing to do to this airplane except fly it. The last annual cost 300.00. Since then it has flown 14 hours. I forgot to mention that it uses a quart of oil in about 9-10 hours. The en gine compartment is VERY clean with a spotless stainless firewall. Bungees are 2 years old. Paint is all flawless. Glass is perfect, including sliding windows that work correctly and don't vibrate. If Douglas Bader were still with us, flying LSA, I think he would buy it! JC

I forgot I am a multiple plane owner! Among my flying types I also have a plane from an old Norwegian boat builder. It was one of a set. the one I have has a curved bottom with a blade to match, about a half a meter long. Made of some sort of blond hard wood, probably Maple.
