Somebody needs to jump on that puppy!!! If you get it DO NOT open it up!!!! The glass is VERY easy to crack and impossible to replace! It probably also has bits of Radium paint in it from being without fluid and the paint chips are VERY toxic. It is WORTH sending to a good repair shop and having it professionally decontaminated and redone.
Whoever buys it post here and you will get good advice on how to safely use it!

FYI - Keystone Instruments in Lockhaven, PA did a WONDERFUL job on by 3 1/8" bubble face. Watch shipping with the radium. I wound up driving my instruments to them because of the radium issue and the USPS, but I live in central Indiana.

I will add my endorsement for Keystone. They cast a bit more, take a bit longer, but the quality was PERFECT! I will also agree about the Radium. It can set off radiation sensors and you DON'T want to contact it. The paint inside can be VERY toxic. Keystone has the people and equipment to do it right. Talk to UPS and FedEx abut shipping. I took mine in withthe box open so they could see it and they marked teh box so if it DID set off an alarm the whole building wouldn't go to General Quarters.

They are kind of hard to find, unless someone has one sitting on a shelf and doesn't even know what it is. Click image for larger version

Yes, the front face of the compass is off. DON'T DO THAT!!! It was loose when I got it and it is VERY easy to put the screws in wrong and crack the glass. You CAN NOT get replacement glass. I tried clear up to the contractors for NASA telescopes and no one would touch it, for ANY price.
