Looking for a boot cowl for a 46 BC-12D Mine is pretty bad and I'm doing a complete restoration. Would love to find one in good shape. I live in SW Washington.
Thanks!

Similar to Dr Tim, mine was too far gone, so I made mine from scratch too. My 1946 stainless firewall was OK, so I reused that.
To be honest, Bruce, anything you could buy would be from a wrecker, so no better than what you have, in terms of dents and corrosion. The shipping cost would be large too.
So either make a new boot cowl yourself, or ask a local metal worker to do it for you. Anyone on the classic car industry would probably welcome the work right now. Very likely cheaper, quicker and of better quality. Owner Produced Parts is your saving grace.
Thanks guys for all the info. I am in SW Washington. I think I'll start drilling out some rivets. My firewall is in ok shape but most of it wont be seen when it's finished.
If you are willing to drive, I have the tools, get get on I84 and head to Ogden... and bring the old one. The left and right side is different dimensions and if the old one fits its much easier to build. I built 3 before I was happy with the fit. Tim
Thanks for the offer Tim. I might just take you up on that. I'm in the middle of covering my wings so when I get them finished and this virus thing dies down I'll let you know. I still have a lot of rivets to drill out on the firewall as well.

Let us know how you both get on! Pictures would be great when you get down to the nitty-gritty!
It would be useful to compare Tim's work with my amateur approach!
Will do Rob. Thanks for your input. Your work is not amateur. Your workmanship is incredible. I have learned so much from your blog. I look at it almost every day to make my restoration better. Thanks again. Hope all is well with you!
