  • Wanted: Propeller For A65-8

I have a BC65 with the A65-8 and am looking for a used propeller. The following propellers would work:
    • McAuley 1A90, 7443, 7445, 7447 (74"-72.5")
    • Sensenich M74CK and M74CK-2 (74"-72.5")
    • Beech R003 controllable, hub R-0020101 or R-003-100, blades R-002-205-72, diameter 72"
    • Hartzell ground adjustable, hub HA-12U, blades 7414 to 6814 or 7214M to 6814M

    Thanks in advance,
    Phil

Not that it will be easy to find one, but installing the Beech propeller will make the airplane no longer eligible as a light sport. Even if you switch back.

Thanks for sharing. I was not aware of that. Even if I switch back it would be ineligible for light sport? I don’t personally need the plane to be light sport, but if I ever decide to sell it would probably be a plus.

I guess I’m looking for McAuley or Sensenich or Hartzell.

T-crafter, thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately I need an airworthy prop.

Yes, even if you switch back. The regulations says, "since its original certification, has continued to meet the following". Then you have #(7) A fixed or ground-adjustable propeller if a powered aircraft other than a powered glider. So if you install a controllable pitch propeller the airplane would not have continued to meet the following, therefore no longer light sport.

Purchased it in a estate sale and know very little about it. 1 blade was striped of finish and it looks like they may have started on the other blade to refinish. I have no paperwork for it and it is exactly as I got it so I am selling it as unairworthy and priced accordingly! $ 500.00 plus shipping.

We badly need to lobby some congressional representatives to get that insanely stupid bit removed... it should be legal to return it to stock configuration.
