  • Needed: L-2A 65 HP exhaust system, pieces or complete

Hello, I’m in need of a complete exhaust system for my 1943 L-2. Mine is not correct, I think it’s off of a cub or something. It’s been “adjusted” to fit around the engine mount, and is also starting to rust through in places too. Any individual parts or “pattern” parts would be greatly appreciated! Let me know what you have...

I might have access to a set. I'll check in the next couple of days.

Sorry, no joy. What I've got came off an L2M. Looks like BC-12D exhaust.

          Mr N47322,

Someone in Florida made a nice set of SS headers for mt L-2B about 15 years ago for a very reasonable price. He did not have my original ones to copy so he must have some kind of template/pattern.
          F. Atlee Dodge made a new SS muffler for me by copying my old rusty one and did a nice job of duplicating it. Perhaps someone can chime in and remember who made exhaust systems for L-2s in Florida. I'm kind of a pack rat so I'll look around and see if I have any of that old stuff around.

I think the guy in Florida may have been Sonny Porch. I don't know if he is still around or not.

                Don,
Lucky you, I just found my headers. They are made of mild steel and have several holes in them. I doubt that they can be repaired since they have that aluminum coating sprayed on them and probably would develop new leaks somewhere else anyway. They could however, be used as patterns to make new ones. I do no have the old muffler, but I do have the old heat shroud that could be used to make a mock-up of the muffler and figuring out where the side inlets and tailpipe go. Let me know if this helps.

Hello again and thanks for the help! I’d be interested in the pattern parts. All I have to go off of right now are the old parts drawing pictures.
