  • Wanted Aileron Bellcrank

    I need a xast Bellcrank Wellcast #1210 .

  • #2
Which piece is that? The actual crank or the hinge fitting support? Many don't have a very good Illustrated Parts Breakdown and a photo will make sure we are looking for the right part.

      Hank,
I only need the bellcrank arm, not the support. I have some parts left over from a clip wing project including the control Colum a frame, rudder bars, wire seat/belt attachment and several wing tanks.if any one needs them.

This is the welded assys. The crank is different from the cast assy cranks. Looking for a photo of the cast assy crank.

Well CRUD!! None of my photos have the crank on a cast fitting! Anyone else have one?

And I get some new photos to add to the collection. This time I will try to remember to attribute them! ;-)

Here are a couple of pictures. One shows the part is machined off center. The one shows part # with an X after it. I wonder if this was rejected, but somehow installed. I have owned the plane for 30 yrs. Bellcrank had some play so I decided to rework it while recovering. My other one has the shaft pressed in the casting and it rotates in the mount. This one rotates on the casting. That is where the slop is.

I wouldn't think the offset would be a problem at all. The adjustment for aileron centering would compensate for it. The slop however would need to be taken up (probably just a drill and thin bushing). If it is the offset hole that is loose I would try to open the hole on the thick side to keep as much edge margin as possible.

Also stole your photos (with attribution) for the photo collection) ;-)

                              Hank,
If worse comes to worse I will bush it. Just thought maybe someone had one to sell. Lots of folks want the welded ones. My clip wing has one of each.
