  • Wanted wing rib BC-12D

Found a cracked rib next to wing tank on the right wing. Need part number
Or the rib itself. It is a two piece rib that is bent after the rear spar. Found crack in the back rib.
Also looking for wing fuel tan strap for right wing.

    Dennis,

Rib is inboard of the tank or outboard of the tank?

        Re: Wanted wing rib BC-12D

When I restored my former PA-11 we used something like this to repair some compromised ribs: http://www.wagaero.com/model-specifi...faa-pma-d.html

I'm not sure but a similar product may have come at that time 15 yrs ago from Stoddard's (http://stoddardairparts.com) or Atlee Dodge (http://www.fadodge.com), and sourced from Univair (http://www.univair.com).

The repair strips were folded over the OEM ribs (stamped and riveted by Piper) and riveted under the capstrip to reinforce any bends and cracks. Worked a lot easier than de-ribbing the wing to replace the damage.

That repair kit looks like for "built-up" ribs.

If the OP has a 95 N number, he has stamped ribs. Never the twain shall meet (not for repair, anyway).

If stamped then Tim's suggestion would apply...rivet a patch. The kit I described applies to built-up ribs that are bi-laterally symmetrical.

If you can post a photo of the damaged rib it will go a long way towards getting you an actual solution to your damage.

Replace broken rib with a stamped rib, not problem.

If you are real desperate, use a D&E rib, not certified but work great. Tim
