      Checking the ring end gap during assembly should have revealed that. Did you see any issues with the end gap?

      The gaps/clearances should be checked during assembly.

      Tags and factory forms are mere paper. Plasti-gages, feeler guages, micrometers tell the real story.

                Best guy's on the West Coast are, AirWest Engines in Hayward, CA and Randy Thompson of Thompsonair in Anderson,CA near Redding.
