The rod is one piece, and the 2 pins are for the rotational forces. I would soak it good with penetrating oil, and let it sit overnight, before trying to tap it out.

Got it apart without too much trouble. That thing probably had not been about in over 70 years! Wowie! Well, she is nothing but a skeleton now. Just waiting on availability to blast and paint. I'll keep ya'll posted
