    Its apparently a common practice to roll bushings. The connecting rod wrist pin bushings are made by rolling sheet that's plated with copper/bronze into a cylindrical shape.

      fyi - an Aeronca drawing for one landing gear that I looked up did call for drill then ream the steel fitting, no bushing.

      An Aeronca SB on bushing replacement does not call out reaming the bushing but does mention reaming the steel fitting that the bushing goes in.

        FYI..1/4 and 5/16 hand reamers cost about £3 ($5) here in the UK..perhaps not the best quality for production work, but OK for us "once in a blue moon" owners.
