The ring looks the same except the ones I saw used an Acorn nut and the tube was horizontal instead of vertical (which seems to result in the ring/bolt bending). That also looks like the same rivet with the fabric cover worn off through the strap. The strap looks WAY too new! Must not be many "sissy" pilots in the UK. ;-)

The mounting tubes I have seen were on a 45° angle.

OK....now I know what those eye-bolts are for on my 40! I will get pics tonite if anyone wants to see the mounts and eyebolts.

Hank, my early '38 BL had one that matched the interior red material. I'd get a picture but it's headed for Brazil.

I drove a 1933 Ford 2 door sedan to college the year after I got out the service. This was the beginning of the rebellious years. One afternoon after lunch there was a noisy crowd with/cops surrounding two cars in the parking lot one of which was mine. Both cars had girly straps. Mine did not have girl feet pointed at the roof.

I have acquired a 1936-7 model A that has medallions on each side to attach the straps.
