  • Fresno air erocoupe spark plug cups

Just got my magneto kit from slick. Imagine my disappointment when plug cup threads don’t match ignition lead. Any ideas other than return cups install cowl bumps?

Try doing a search for cutting threads to match, it's been several years, i went thru the same thing, someone on this site had the die that I borrowed and paid shipping to cut the proper threads, put it in a 4 jaw chuck and turned down the major diameter, seems like he was in California, but don't remember his name

It is covered on here. Someone had a die I used. Too many years ago for me to remember but I think I covered some of it in my post.
        Cheers,

Use the search tool, it is better than waiting for answers we have repeated many times. Here is one of my posts: https://vb.taylorcraft.org/forum/tay...t=ercoupe+cups

Its the same thread and nut as on the old style magneto end that still has the screw on leads.

Here is a link to the die that I used. I was able to sand down the old threads by hand and then when smooth, use this to turn them to the correct pitch. I also had to take a small round file and clean up some of the welds on the neck of the cup so that the harness ends would seat deep enough.

Thanks!! I do appreciate it. Been off for awhile. Ended up going with slick conversion and cowl bumps.

Rem37by plugs are 1/2” shorter than the E series plugs. Tim
