  • F-19 Trim

My F-19 trim seems lacking...barely able to trim to 60mph...I don't have much time in an F-19, buts lots in BC-12D 65 I rebuilt 45 years ago as a kid...it could trim for less than 50 if I recall correctly...all specs and angles have been checked...thinking of adding a trim tab to trim tab...any thoughts from anyone....Thanks and 73's, Lynn

Full nose-up trim and throttle closed, and hands off, your F19 should descend at about 65mph.

    What does it actually do?

That's about right, maybe 60...just feels like to much forward CG...I've been carrying some tie downs and tools and stuff in back and it feels a little better ...but not as nice handling as old N43213 did...I only have about twenty hours on this F-19 scattered over a few years...I'm sure I need more time to learn the 'edges'!

If it has more than enough nose down trim, it can be adjusted so you would have more nose up trim and less nose down trim. MAC

it is going to feel that way due to the foward cg from the engine placement. which prop does it have on it.

Can't remember the prop right now...it is the standard one...I think only one was approved...I think same as 150 Cessna

It is also approved for a longer 1b90 cm7443 prop. Its going to fly with a more foward cg feel. It also wheel lands better than a bc-12d becuase of the foward cg as well. Personally out of all the taylorcrafts I have owned and flew, not counting the L-2M, I preferred how our F-21 flew the best.

Well the old BC12 D flew better to me...I prefer three point landings and shorter landing distances...Thanks everyone.
