Kevin- Thanks a million. Looks like I am saving about 15 pounds for the set of clipped all wood wings. Every ounce counts! I want to try and keep it at 750 pounds or less. I plan to do a good bit of acro and eventually some airshows. With the limited power of the 0-200 I will need to keep it light.

Flying is easy- to go up you pull back, to go down you pull back a little farther.

        Wing Wieght

Your welcome Eric, glad I could help.My stock wings should be a little lighter than most because I didn't put a bunch of epoxy primer/paint on everything,I used Vari-prime self etching primer on everthing and it is a lot lighter than the epoxy. So you are probably save a little more wieght than you think. Also I relized that the tip leading edge was off of one of the lighter of the 2 wings, that's probably where my wieght difference came from.
Good luck with it.We need to get together someday and do a few aerobatics.

the question that was not asked is are they the 15 stamped rib wings like mine , or the 13 rib wings.

To B or not to B , that is the ?

              Wing weight

              Ok Robert
Let me get my head out of my butt
Now what i meant to say is "Stamped or structural ribs"
I do believe , as in i know, the BC12d had both , what i don't know is was there a weight difference?

The ribs are interchangeable (except the stitching question).

                My 45 BC12D has 15 built-up ribs (1200lb gross)
My 46 BC12D has 15 stamped ribs (also 1200lb gross)

                  Ribs

                  So Robert old chap
You say the ribs weigh the same. Now figure that rib lacing thing out for us will you?

Norm I don't say the ribs weigh the same...I do not know.

But the stamped ribs are not approved (I believe) for stitching, although I understand the new F22's will be stitched.

I am still looking for a 337 for stitching the stamped ribs.
