  • N95770

Just acquired first project, N95770. Have log books for plane & engine and much more, built 1946,ser#8070. Will be restoring with high school youth and foster youth that are getting ready to emancipate. Plane totally disassembled, in hangar at Stockton, Ca. Would appreciate all help.

Best thing is to use this thread as a log of your rebuild. Post LOTS of pictures and ask questions. the guys here will kick in with information, available parts and advice like nothing you have ever seen. These guys love to look at what others are doing and will spot all kinds of minor (and major) details to address in a restoration. This is a great community that loves to help.

      Michael,
Fantastic! You just made about 1000 friends.
No detail is too small. No question is too trivial. No two planes were built alike, but they all fly great. We are standing by for photos and progress reports.

Thanks, I took pictures of a Taylorcraft that is being restored at Flabob airport, in Riverside, Ca. Where else can i go for additional pictures, allreay learned that no two are alike? yikes! Have a Master of Art degree in psychology, no degree or experience in aircraft restoring!

            Michael,
Go to Columbia, CA the first weekend in June 1st-3rd. That is the date of this years annual Taylorcraft fly-in there. If you are in Stockton, it is not far. Everyone camps near the west end of the GRASS runway.

Isn't Bill Berle somewhat close to Stockton? I think he's been through a few Tcrafts too..might be a good contact. I see him regularly on backcountrypilot.org

I think Bill was out of Witman in the LA Basin near Burbank. Stockton is closer to Sacramento.

Welcome to the group Mike. You can always count on these guys to help with anything taylorcraft and even a few things unrelated. If we don't know the answer we will find it....or make one up that will work...just kiddin. Also, I think its great that you are doing this with the kids, not as much of that going on anymore and there needs to be more kids doing more in aviation.
