My name is David Grubbs, not Wilbur, that's my grandfather. I purchased my '46 BC12D about two years ago. N44090 was purchased new by a gentleman in Columbus, Montana. It has been there it's entire life. I purchased it from a gal on the field. It has changed hands about 4 times but didn't get flown much. It's in beautiful shape with fresh cover. It only has 1200 hours total time. I've been told it was Red and Black when it was new. I love the plane. I got my ticket in a '50 Cessna 140A. I then purchased a '46 Luscombe in a million pieces and restored it to new. I flew it for awhile and sold it. I guess it's in California now. I then built a Peitenpol from a set of plans. NEVER AGAIN! I sold it just before she was ready to fly. My Taylorcraft is better than all of them. It gets off shorter than all the others and is much more fun to fly. I put about 80 hours on her this past summer alone. I have attached some pix for you to see. Thank you for welcoming me everyone and I'm looking forward to being part of the tribe!

Re: New Member
Welcome David! I was just through Billings last week. I'm just outside of Kalispell... Hanson, on the sectional.... Glad to see more Montanans on here! That's one clean looking Tcraft!! I suppose Alan Rickman was taking care of it?

Re: New Member
Alan covered it and performed the annuals for decades but not for the past 15 years. I was going to buy this plane 15 years ago for 10K from the original owner's daughter. I planned to purchase it with a friend. As we were making the deal him and another friend were killed in a Cub crash near by. I decided not to buy it. I finally got the plane years later but for twice the price. It's all worth it to me and I don't have a partner in it. Anyway, thanks guys. Montana T-Craft we should get a T-craft fly-in planned sometime. There are a lot of them in the Eastern Montana area. N96337 I couldn't find Hanson on the sectional.

Alan's a great guy and does fine work! If you go on the GF sectional, follow hiway 2 west from Kalispell, towards Libby. You'll see Cabin Creek, then Hanson's off to the South and a couple miles West from there. 2400' of grass...drop in any time!

That was probably Ray Sanders that you got the Luscombe from. I think I remember him having a project once. He's all out of it now.
We can always have a BBQ and meet here anytime in the summer....
