Nothing like fresh, new fabric! Can't wait to see the finished product!

      Both wings are white now.
Tonight, I plan to paint the red leading edge and big numbers on the bottom of the left wing.

        Re: N 96872

I thought that I could paint the red after work. So we started at 5:30pm with the wing masked. But it was 4am before I got to bed. The good news is that it basically worked fine.
I let the paint dry a little longer (about 2 hours) than I did the last time I painted red over white. This helped a lot. Because I just had less red paint all over my gloves. Therefore less chance of getting it on the white.

Got the wings hung but still need to check the washout. Ailerons and cables hooked up but still need some attention.

                          Re: N 96872

                          We weighed N96872 yesterday.
                          She weighs 816#.

The last time she was weighed before I recovered her, she measured a hefty 871#.

Even with the new C85 and the hydraulic brakes, I'm thrilled that I was able to scrape off 55#.

BTW, the chocks and the level shown in the pictures were removed before weighing.

Tim when I saw the pictures of your beautiful plane, it made me long for my old girlfriend N 96864 She was also an 85 horse, same color even! I would move heaven and earth to get her back.

                                Tim:
I think you tip the scales at 1lb more than BREY (so we'll ignore that as "acceptable calibration instrumentation discrepancy" or whatever it's called!

                                She looks good!
