Nice. My favorite WWII aircraft. Beautiful. Thank you. Have read about construction technique, but very interesting to see film of it being done.

If I were rich I would do a replica of modern composite materials.

Some French chaps are building a 3/4 scale flying replica. It looks like a hard project! It started in 1988.

At the end of 2006 they had spent 18900 hours on it! O-540 engines, not Merlins:

Kermit Weeks had one in his collection and when we stopped in he let me climb up and sit in it. Very small cockpit and the other fellow sat above and to the right of the pilot. One of my favorite airplanes! FAST! JC

Vegas were built in similar fashion and had though about building a compsite vega or orion for years

I would just want it to look the same and go fast. I would use the easiest construction method available that was sturdy enough. Must have a pair of Packard-Merlins though, and be full-sized. Hey, we're dreaming here, might as well go whole hog.
