Photo Gallery??????

I logged onto the forum gallery and found that I'm not there. The entire Crispy Critter gallery has disappeared. Does anyone know what happened or why?

My ads For Sale of Taylorcrafts disappeared. I think I forgot to pay my dues to the Foundation Oh well they may just be out there in cyberspace, if you saved them just re post. I am sure Bob or Rob or God will get right on it....

This is a job for Bob...I had a look, but it appeaars that the cyber police have reverted the Gallery to a long-ago edition.

Three gallery folders (crispy, dick, + one other.) Uh be carefully how you read that last sentence...

Anyway, your folders somehow had open permission for "guests" to create folders and post stuff in them. Some spammers found this open door and started pumping in crap for viagra and what ever else they think Taylorcraft people would be interested in. I think the open door was not your fault, but rather something that got tripped up in the early days of setting up the gallery or maybe one of the software updates along the way.

The only way to shut this off was to lock up your folders, even with them locked up there are multiple net bots out there are trying every 5 minutes to post more junk in your folder and have been for the past 5 days...

We can either wait for them to go away, which may be never. Or you can create new folders and re-post your photos, which is probably the better thing to do.

I guess while we are on this is a good time to make a suggestion. I am building some photo files of several folks rebuilds to put in the photo files (I panicked when some of the old ones disappeared!) I use a lot of those file photos when I get stuck on how things are supposed to go together.
What I am doing is creating files using the N (or NC) number and the last name of the current owner as a title. Thus, my photo folder would be "NC-36296 Jarrett" with sub folders inside labeled for the pre-rebuild, in work and finished pictures. If I find pictures from past owners (or if I ever sold the plane- YEA, RIGHT!) I or the other new owner would be able to show them too all under the N number and current owners name (when you sell a plane just put the new owner in with the number and put all of your photos in a sub-folder).
Some of the photo collections are getting pretty extensive and searches can take a LOT of time (NOT complaining mind you, I have had some great evenings going through pictures on the laptop while my wife watches some New York housewife show or a bunch of second tier "stars" dancing in a competition!)
Just an idea since I know it is taking me a LOT of time to properly label all of my photos. This will probably be one of those projects I finally finish after I'm too old to fly.

Hank,If you or anyone else would like copies of my pics your welcome to use them. I have thousands of Crispy during both rebuilds and even a few on slide's of when my dad and papaw rebuilt her in the late 60's. I don't post a lot of the pics simply because the mess in the hanger(lol),but if I can find them all I have almost any and every angle of every almost every single part as it was removed ,cleaned/patterened/,preped/fabricated,primed/painted, and reassembled. Some are on my computer,some were lost when my old computer died,some are on CD's,some are on memory cards,and some are, "YES,believe it or not", on paper like they used to do,lol. I have enough pics that you could probably use them to build a scale t-craft from scratch without ever using a blueprint.

Yep, I must be the other. I noticed last week that a couple of my folders were there but show as empty. Oh well...
