I have a lycoming 145 (logs) and a A-65 (no logs) but I am still looking for a C-85, can anyone tell me what the price range is on a C-85, I see where a guy in Penn. is asking for 11k for a just rebuilt 145 but that is way to high in my book unless someone does buy it

Re: C-85 prices?
As Paul Harvey said Here is the rest of the story i bought this engine from the estate of the man that built it and payed 3000.00 for it mines the starter alternator and carburator NOW! that was the find of the century i also sold my A65-8f with 350 hrs for 4000.00.I looked for an engine for two years and c85 c90 and 0200 bring top dollar high time engines will bring 5000.00 and up and they don't show up often1940 BLT/BC65 N26658 SER#2000

Re: C-85 prices?
Thanks, I found a c-85 that had yet to be rebuilt, less then 1k hours (plane hit power lines-density alt problems not engine), everything comes with it for $8500, so I was wondering.
Anyone interested in a Lycoming 145 with logs and data plate also included is another 145 no logs or data plate, core is assembled and this eng sure looks to be in better shape then my other 1. I have extra gasket set also

Re: C-85 prices?
Any idea what a Lycoming 145 sells for now? There has to be a reasonable number between the guys who say whatever a boat anchor is selling for in the Sears catalog and the "HOLLY C**P! What do you want to put it in the Smithsonian or something?" prices you hear.
Anyone have a Taylorcraft mount for the Lyc? Josh's plane was a BL originally and was changed out to a Cont decades ago (like a LOT of planes!). I have no idea if he ever intended to go back (kind of doubt it since he was a big time flying type, not a show plane guy). The Lyc without the mount is pretty useless. It is WAY DIFFERENT from a Cont mount.

Re: C-85 prices?
I've mentioned before that I have an O-145 (no logs or mags) that I will sell as parts only. Anybody makes a reasonable offer and they will own it. as I have no use for it.EAA 93346 TF #863
