  • THe Interior work is done

I finally finished my interior. It was a bear, mainly because of the modified headliner that I had to make for the skylight. I copied the " deluxe interior" bound in Chet's book. The Plane is essentially done except for the Cowl. I had to make a new one from scratch. Fortunately I have a very skilled friend doing the real metal work.

      Mike,

I am curious. Did you run the headliner up to the edge of the skylight. Any pictures?

I notice the seat cushion looks like 2 separate cushions. Is it possible to add/remove "booster" pillows under your seat cushions for difference seating heights?

How are your cushions attached to the seat sling?

Very nice conservative upholstering. I like it.

Beautiful interior. Too bad it will be covered in slobber from every passenger you take up when they see it.

OK, the lesser interiors need SOMETHING to explain their condition!

What am I doing wrong. I tried to reply to a couple of the questions about my Interior and they don't seem to show up?

Upholstery looks good. When we rebuilt our '40, BC-65, my wife and I thought we could do the interior. It didn't take too many hours before we located a guy that specializes in doing interiors in antique cars. We are very happy with his work.

I love the Velcro hatch to reach behind the headliner. My 41 has the original "T" zippers and working on the aileron cables is miserable!

Hank, I think it has hidden zippers. You can see the little tallywhackers hanging down.

I think you are right. that does look like two zipper pulls. Either way, I REALLY like the size and looks. Big enough to get both hands in to adjust the aileron turn buckles. Just looks really professional and well thought out.

Tallywhackers? That has a WHOLE different meaning where I grew up in the mid west! ;-)

I went to the state FFA convention because my son was being recognized as top scoring floor member in the state for junior parlimentary procedure. As they were getting ready the ag teacher said make sure your tallywhackers are tucked in, and they all went for the fob on thier jackets.

We have the same kind of thing here in south east Virginia where "Corn Hole" is very popular (tossing a bean bag through a round hole in a board). Back in Kansas and Nebraska when I was growing up that had a COMPLETELY different meaning too!
First time a guy asked me if I wanted to play Corn Hole I almost punched him. Lots of words and phrases have different meanings in different parts of the country.
