I just finished my fitting of the Windshield on my BC12D. LP Plastics is a almost perfect fit. I have searched the threads and there seems to be two schools of thought on how to install the sides of the windscreen. One is to just make holes where the screws go and the other is to cut slots. Any help about this is appreciatrd

Re: Windshiel to slot or not to slot
It lets you slide the sides of the windshield into the A Pillar fasteners instead of attaching the metal part to the transparency first and then trying to get he fasteners into the tabs on the tube. I didn't do mine that way and just used over sized holes with rubber tube "O" rings to keep the screws from bearing on the plastic. You DON'T want the threads touching the edge of the transparency. It is just asking for a crack.

It was harder to get the windshield in the way I did it.

Re: Windshiel to slot or not to slot
a windshield will move .080 per linear foot of material for every 50*f of temp change. In fairbanks the temps range from -50 to 100, that will give you almost .250 of total movement. I ususally have to replace my side window every year because of cracking out the holes.N29787
