  • Hooker harness

Yes I have looked at all the old post on this subject. My question is this, if you install the hooker harness kit can you take out the seatbelt "spider"? Or do you still use it? Thanks!

Yes, you still use it (it restrains the RH lap belt of the LH seat and LH belt of RH seat).

        Re: Hooker harness

As an aside, Dale, I have an interesting story about my Hooker harness.

You may know that I live in the UK, and one trip to the States, I specified and pre-ordered and then collected a new harness for my Taylorcraft from Hooker at their booth at Oshkosh.

A few years later during my Taylorcraft rebuild, I needed to modify the harness a little bit, so I mailed it off to Jack Hooker and told him I would collect it the following July at Oshkosh again.

When I picked it up, he would not accept a bean for the mod (even though it was at my request).

So he is a good egg in my opinion.

He is a good egg, if you like eggs! there is a lot of talent stored up stairs there, and funny stories too, having started out in the sky diving field and is now a regular supplier of dark beer from the keg at Oshkosh. Every evening invloves several stops at various groups that he is well know in up and down the flight line. I can't begin to keep up with him on these jaunts. Larry

            Re: Hooker harness

He is one of only two "Hookers" my wife is OK with my hanging with. The other is a (male) "Hooker" who works in Aerospace too. Another great guy who took WAY too much teasing about his name growing up.
Next time you get with him you need to get the low-down on why "women of loose virtue" are referred to as "hookers". Great story, especially if you are into Civil War history.

              Re: Hooker harness

I will do that, he always takes part in our Young Eagles flights too. He lost his wife last year and that knocked him down so I always make it a point to have dinner with him on EAA Chap. meeting night. We talk sky diving most of the time. He also bought a Cessna 140 this year after the insurance company totaled his 120 after wrapping it around the gas pumps early last year. L

PS: Not realy a bad incident, just caught the wing strut on the pump. But at taxi speed it pulled the fuselage at the gear mount among other damage.

I know him through the Cessna association. Bright red 120... (Bummer!)

Next time you see him ask him about white water rafting in West Virginia...

+100 on all the good things folks have said about him.
