Are pre war and post war landing gear legs interchangeable? I bought a replace right landing gear for my project which is a 1946 BC12 D. I was told after the fact that the replacement I bought was from a pre war aircraft. Looking at them, they look the same.

Re: Landing Gear Legs
Univair's gear UB-A50-L/R fits the models below and it includes pre and post war. So I would assume that at the very least the pre and post war Taylorcraft gear is all physically the same size.
(BC, BCS, BC-65, BCS-65, BC12-65 (ARMY L-2H), BCS12-65, BC12D-85, BCS12D-85, BC12D-4-85, BCS12D-4-85, BF, (ARMY L-2G), BFS, BF-60, BFS-60, BF-65, BFS-65, BF12-65, (ARMY L-2K), BFS12-65, BL, BLS, BL-65, (ARMY L-2F), BLS-65, BL12-65, (ARMY L-2J), BLS12-65
You might also check the Taylorcraft parts manual. I think there is one on the Foundation website.

Re: Landing Gear Legs
If you are refering to the "tie" strut and one is rounded out instead of streamline , you may be a lucky person to now know that water got inside and froze causing the round strut...... We have warned about this many times , there is hole in the bottom of the tie strut that needs to be drilled ( factory SB) to let water out ; check it. The tie strut may be weakened.... back later the Newells have arrived....Taylorcraft Foundation, Inc
