I'm in the process of recovering my stabs on a 1946 Tcraft and while I was covering them I noticed that the ribs were smaller in width than the 1/2 inch reinforcing that I purchased. Without having to go to the hanger does anyone know what size this tape is?

Re: 1946 stabilizer
That's were I am about to be. I notice the braces were nicely rounded so don't believe any tape is required for smoothing (as opposed to stitching over something with a sharp edge, like a rib). I'll run reinforcing tape on the surface just beneath the stitching and probably cover with pinked fabric. - Mike

Re: 1946 stabilizer
I've got a question about covering this stabilizer. I'm using the blanket method and have covered one side. After shrinking to 250*, I carefully cut an opening for the place where the bolt goes thru to hold the wire support and applied a reinforcement patch. Then I realized that covering the other side of the stabilizer would require that the fabric also covers that opening. Finally, the finishing tape would also cover that hole! Should I have waited to apply that patch until after application of the finishing tape, or with all that fabric, would I even need that patch?- MikeMike Horowitz
