  • Cessna 140 exhaust?

I bought a FWF off of a 140 and I was wondering if anyone has tried installing that exhaust on their taylorcraft. I searched, but all I found were write-ups on 150 and luscombe exhaust.

I thought about using a set before I came up with a F19 exhaust for the Deluxe I built. They won't clear the firewall without reworking the ends

If it's straight pipes it's worth giving a shot. If it's "pancake" mufflers they're not worth the price of scrap metal.

The exhaust that came with it is the pancake style. Other than the 25hr AD, what kind of issues would I have running this system?

The 25 hr AD ( like ALL AD's ) may not be a biggie.

However; there is a REASON for a 25 hr AD.

The message is " this is NOT reliable for more than 25hrs.".

I think you might have difficulty getting a Field Approval on a component with

              a checkered history.

What if you go through the Paper Chase & then 25 hrs later it is defective?

That is definitely a concern of mine, although this exhaust looks to be in great shape. I guess I'd be better off if I found some luscombe or 150 exhaust even though this exhaust doesn't have many hours on it. With my luck it would fall apart within 25 hrs of getting it approved.
