Chapter 4 covers Metal Structure, Welding & Brazing. I looked through it, but didn't see anything regarding shielding the rotating beacon. Can you give me a section or page number?

Night is defined as excluding twilight, so the night regulations do not apply.

              Re: Rotating Beacon

I checked with AC 43.132b and the only mounting information I found was for aluminum skinned aircraft. I am still looking for any info on mounting a rotating beacon to a tube and fabric aircraft. Anyone?

                Re: Rotating Beacon

I'd follow the idea for figure 4-2, and look at 'radio equipment' installation, for making it 'rigid enough' to not vibrate crazily. I believe you can't weld to the frame to put 'tabs' on to hold the 'sheetmetal' that the light would be attached to, without it being a 'major alteration' (don't quote me on that) but you could use adel clamps i bet. to hold the metal in place

                  Re: Rotating Beacon

Its required for the pilot to fly at night in PART 91 but not for the airplane. catch 22, gotta have it for night flying.
