    TonyL mentioned that 39 and earlier had winglets below the elevator, now this puts me in a bind as mine is a 41 bl-65 but I have winglets.
    I'm starting to wonder hard what I have

      any of the "B" model airplanes before the 1200 pound gross weight had the trim flippers. They built these all the way into 1941. Tom

          Correct on the flippers trim. Yes the early Model D / L-2 used a two cable deal with pulleys but it does not look like the Elevator pictured, the squared off part and the "tubing" was never used in production to my knowledge; there was Experimental stuff ; Gottengen airfoil; wooden fuel tanks; different shaped fins & rudder to name a few.
