Tach Restoration

I'm trying to locate a place to restore the big old tach in my 1940 Taylorcraft. In a search on the internet I found a company called Keystone Instruments in Pennsylvania. Has anyone used them and were you happy with their work? Or, does anyone have any other suggestions for this?

Yes, they have done all of my instrument work on my Cherokee. Many people here have used them. My experience has always been very good.

An other place is John Wolfe and CO., but you don't get a yellow tag when done. If you need a new glass check with someone who restores antique clocks. 20 years ago when I did my BL I silk screened my own faces. I had 2 screens one for the BL and one for the model A.

Hi Mark,

Search on 'Keystone Instruments' here on the forum. You'll find lotsa' info. They've done several projects for me (2 SW 3in1, and a bubble face) and the results have been very good. Timing could be a factor. h

Thanks for the info. I called Keystone and spoke with Ken who was very helpful. He knew all about this tach and can help me out.

Yes , Keystone is Good.They were used on my 46 BC12D Were wonderful. JIM

2 of my tach's went to keystone and were never seen again. They were the stewart warners with the female 90* adapter and hour meter that needed new hour meters...Tim

Well we believe you . My experience was wonderful...hmm wonder if someone LOST them on the way there ? It does happen. Perhaps you verified shipment to their address ? And THEY lost them?? What happened. ?? Sounds serious to me.

They were sent in with a friend of mine's instruments and they said they didnt have the parts and never sent them back.....
