Does anyione have a few prewar aileron ribs that they might part with? I need (1) normal full rib and (3) nose ribs. By "normal rib" I mean the full rib with the 7/16" spar opening not the one with the 7/8" spar opening for the doubled area of the center hinge. I was suprised to see that there are differences in rib count on the 1938 ailerons vs. the post-wars.

Re: Need a few aileron ribs
Glen,
Just like the wing ribs the prewar aileron ribs were built up rolled stock not stamped.
Little things must amuse me....I can't bring myself to take the hang tag off that NOS door handle.......complete with it's 90 cent price. I will mount the step when I attach the stuts. Both will work great and I appreciate your parting with them. You don't by chance have another one of those door handles do you?MIKE CUSHWAY

Re: Need a few aileron ribs
Mike,
Hang on to that tag, it's probably worth more than the handle itself. The aileron nose ribs that I have are stamped. You can have them if you want to use them. I do have another door handle. You will have to rework it a little. It is a Dexter handle like you have except that it was used on an access panel for a furnace. You will have to run a die over the stem with the appropriate pitch and then shorten it to the correct length and poof, you have a genuine tcraft door handle! You can copy the inside handle that I sent you. It is correct for pre-war models. I had identical ones on my '40 BC-65. They were chromed and looked pretty snazzy.
